Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Is there any software to purchase or install?
A. There is no software to purchase or install. AppraisalTrac technology only requires that you have Internet access and a compatible web browser (Firefox 1.5/2.0, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6/7, Netscape 7+) with 128 bit encryption. AppraisalTrac applications can also be accessed via AOL.
Q. What are the hardware and software requirements to use the AppraisalTrac application?
A. Any Apple Macintosh (Mac OS X 10.4+), Linux 2.6 or Microsoft Windows PC (2000/XP/Vista) with access to the
Internet (either through a network connection or with a 28.8 or higher speed
modem) is capable of using AppraisalTrac technology.
Users of all Web Browser will require Java 1.5 (Version 5.0) to be installed on their systems. Users can Download and Install Java at no charge. Click Here to Download and Install Java 1.5 if required.
Q. Is the AppraisalTrac application available as a turnkey solution?
A. Yes, AppraisalTrac technology can be licensed as a turnkey solution. Please contact us for further details of a turnkey implementation.
Q. How is AppraisalTrac technology different from e-mail based delivery systems?
A. AppraisalTrac technology uses secure sockets (SSL) via HTTP tunnelling to deliver appraisal reports in real time. All transactions are performed over a secure channel and conclude with a definitive result.
E-mail, on the other hand, is neither secure nor guaranteed to be delivered. E-mail was never intended to be a data transportation protocol to facilitate electronic business transactions.
Every transaction performed using AppraisalTrac technology is protected. From secure log-ins using unique userid and password, to the sending of status messages and the delivery of appraisal reports and PDF.
Some systems have a secure sign on procedure but once you are logged in, transmissions are sent using un-encrypted, plain text which means that the data can be read or modified along the way. There is no guarantee that what was sent by one party was received in its original condition by the receiving party.

database which delivers high performance, reliability and scalability required by our Clients. The
AppraisalTrac application is an IBM e-business solution.
